Sourcing Goat

Privacy Policy

Effective 27 August 2026

This policy covers sourcinggoat.com and the hosts we run on that domain (including the public demo). It is written so a person, a crawler, or an ad network can read it without running any JavaScript.

Who operates this site

Sourcing Goat is a product of Parsimony, operated by Steve Simonson. Questions about this policy go to hello@sourcinggoat.com — that is the only address we publish for this.

What this site is

Sourcing Goat is a product-sourcing console for private-label sellers. The marketing pages, this policy, and the public demo of fake sourcing data all live on this domain. The demo is a look at the product, not a place to put real customer or factory records.

Information we collect

We collect what you choose to type into the site: a feedback report and the email you attach to it, a note on a demo record, or (on a paid workspace) the account you sign in with. Server logs keep the usual request metadata — IP address, user agent, path, and time — long enough to keep the site up and to rate-limit abuse. We do not sell that information.

The public demo is filled with invented factories and reserved .example addresses. Treat anything you type there as visible to other visitors.

Google AdSense, cookies, and personalised ads

This site uses Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet — that is, personalised advertising.

AdSense and other third-party vendors and ad networks may set third-party cookies in your browser, and may collect data such as your IP address, cookie identifiers, and how you use this site and others, in order to show you ads they think are more relevant — personalized ads. Those cookies are set by domains that are not sourcinggoat.com. We also use first-party cookies that our own host sets, for example to keep a signed-in workspace session.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings at https://adssettings.google.com and https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Opting out does not mean you will see no ads; it means the ads you see should no longer be personalised to you by Google. You can also learn how Google uses data for ads at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or similar preference signal, we honour it where the law requires us to. You can also refuse cookies in your browser; some parts of a signed-in workspace will not work without the session cookie.

How we use what we have

To run the site, to answer a report you filed, to keep a workspace signed in, to measure that the pages load, and to show ads as described above. We do not use the contents of a sourcing record, a sample request, or a feedback report to target ads.

Who we share it with

Google, for AdSense. The infrastructure that hosts the site (today Cloudflare, and for a paid workspace the ERP the workspace is pointed at). We share a feedback report with the people who fix the product. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

A feedback report stays until we have dealt with it and no longer need the record. A workspace session lasts as long as the cookie does. Server logs are rotated. Ad partners keep what their own policies say they keep; that is not our store.

Children

This site is for people running a product-sourcing business. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how we use personal information, we will update the date at the top of this page. The current version is always at sourcinggoat.com/privacy.
