These terms cover sourcinggoat.com, the public demo, and the Sourcing Goat product. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, do not use it.

The site

Sourcing Goat is a product of Parsimony, operated by Steve Simonson. It is a product-sourcing console: survey a niche, sample suppliers, and walk a product from first request to approved. The public demo is a look at that console filled with invented data. A paid workspace, when one exists, is your own site pointed at your own records.

What you may do

Use the marketing pages, read these policies, and try the demo. On the demo you may edit what is already there; creating and deleting records is turned off. Do not use the demo to store real customer, factory, or payment information. Do not probe, scrape, or overload the site, and do not try to reach an account or a workspace that is not yours.

What the demo is not

The demo is fake on purpose — invented factories, reserved .example addresses, research figures labelled as estimates. It is not a production workspace, not legal advice, and not a promise that a particular product, supplier, or number will work for you.

Your content

Anything you type into a feedback report, a note, or a workspace is yours. You give us a licence to host it, to show it to the people who need to see it (you, your workspace, and — for a bug report — the people who fix the product), and to keep a copy as long as this policy and the privacy policy say we do.

Our content

The name, the mark, the copy, and the software are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy the product, wrap it as your own, or use the name to imply we endorse something we have not.

Other people's sites

Pages here link out to Steve Simonson, Parsimony, and other ventures. Those sites have their own terms. Ads shown through Google AdSense are chosen by Google and its partners, not by us; their landing pages are not ours.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. We do not promise that it will be up, that it will be free of mistakes, or that using it will find you a winning product. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Sourcing Goat, Parsimony, and Steve Simonson are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of a substitute, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the three months before the claim, or twenty US dollars if you paid nothing.
